Philosophy for Children

All through school, children learn how to ask questions and form opinions on big ideas through taking part in philosophy for children sessions.

In year 3, children thought of lots of questions and voted democratically for their favourite one to answer.

These children in year 1 agreed and disagreed with each other respectfully to discuss their chosen question ‘should giraffes be kept in cages?’ This helped them think about the big idea of ‘freedom’ and learn about their own and animal rights.
