During my recent visit to St Ann’s, I was thoroughly supported in my endeavours to improve my own practice and gather ideas and resources to impact upon practice within my own school. The SEND team at St Ann’s were helpful, supportive and had a deep understanding of what the children in their school required in terms of SEND support. They were keen to ensure that teachers understood their accountability for pupils with SEND and had lots of support in place to ensure that the needs of the children - no matter what vulnerable group they belonged to - were fully supported within the classroom and beyond. With a focus on the use of teaching assistants, I was able to see how their provision differed from my own school based on the needs of the children. The observations I made were pertinent to my own learning and I was fully welcomed by all staff to gain a wider understanding for my studies. I would like to thank all of the staff at St Ann’s Junior and Infant School for their support.

The website has been updated and provides an excellent resource for all users.

The information is clear, comprehensive and accessible about the support and opportunities that are available in school.

The SEND team now work to make provision more responsive to local needs and aspirations. The Local Offer has been developed and reviewed in partnership with children and young people, parent carers and local services.
