Our final outcome was to make a sun safety bunting for Foundation children. Our final outcome involved designing a sun safety object (sun hat, sun cream, sun glasses etc) to then sew on to the bunting to remind children to protect themselves from the sun. We used different materials such as buttons, ribbon and sequins to decorate the bunting. We created a rubric to support us with our sewing.
Have a look at our pictures of our sun safety bunting and also of our exhibition, which involved inviting Foundation Stage children to share our learning with us.
Our learning so far
We have done lots of learning about how to keep happy in the sun. Therefore, we thought it'd be a good idea to put our learning in to practice.
We packed our sunglasses, sun cream, water and sunglasses (as we've learned that all of these things keep us safe in the sun) and headed off to Clifton Park. We treated ourselves to some ice lollies to keep ourselves hydrated.
So far, we have realised that the sun can be very dangerous, but if we take precautions, we can have fun and be happy when playing in the sun shine.
We will upload some work about our learning for you all to have a look at asap. :-)
Our Sparkling Start
We visited Cleethorpes for the day to learn all about the sun. We visited the beach and found out that playing in the sun can be so much fun! However, we know that it is dangerous too and learned that we can wear sun cream and UV sunglasses to protect us.
