Factors and Multiples Game

Here is a brilliant game to play with a partner. The game is perfect for children between the ages of 8-11 so perhaps you could play with a sibling. Before you begin to play, make sure both players understand the words 'factor' and 'multiple' (I've put the definitions below). The number grid is underneath the video but if you can't print this out, you can just write the numbers 1-40 on a piece of paper.

I wonder if you'll develop a strategy to increase your chances of winning. Good luck!

Factor - a number that divides exactly into another number.

e.g. 5 and 7 are factors of 35.

Multiple - 2 numbers multiply together to create a multiple.

e.g. 35 is a multiple of 5 and 7.

The calculation below may make this clearer.
